In some patients a lack of projection of the malar or cheek bones may also be observed . This may be congenital or due to lack of development of this structure during growth. In these cases it can be treated with the placement of rigid silicone implants, giving a normal contour to the face and leaving it more balanced with other parts of the face. In other less severe cases we can treat it with fat Autograft.

In this surgery, one of the most important developments has been that with the latest advances in aesthetic surgery that allow action in wide areas by minimum length incisions, residual scars are limited both in scope and in their location allowing that, in most cases, the results are inapparent. One advance that allows this type of procedure without need of large incisions is the endoscopic forehead lift. The procedure consists of using a camera through small incisions in the scalp, allowing the patient to avoid major trauma, a faster recovery, better results, and decrease the size of the scar, guaranteeing it a natural appearance.

It is important to emphasize that the lifting of the middle third of the face does not change the basic and fundamental features of the patient’s face and does not interrupt the process of aging. When the procedure is performed alone it can only improve the areas described above. If you have any doubts on this point, see your surgeon.

Therefore, surgery is best indicated for:

-Adult patients, both men and women who feel the effects of facial aging and seek to treat the area of the middle third of the face only or associated with another facial procedure.

-Adult patients that are healthy, without a serious medical condition, or likely to impair healing.

You will be asked to sign a consent form to ensure that there was a full understanding about the procedure to be conducted and that you are aware of the possible and potential complications. Possible complications of this surgery include: accumulation of blood under the skin (skin), swelling (edema), infection, poor healing, loss of hair at the site of the incision, the facial nerve injuries followed by facial asymmetry, areas with vascular suffering of the skin, areas with loss of sensitivity, thrombus formation and anesthetic complications.

Otoplasty (Ear treatment)

Otoplasty is the medical term used for the surgical procedure that seeks to improve the shape and position of the ears. Ears can be large and disharmonic in both children and adults. The alterations in shape or size of the ears can create a feeling of great discomfort to the patient, that may even opt to hide ears under their hair.

Otoplasty in adults is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation, but in children the surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia.

To approximate the ears to the head, the incision is placed behind the ear, along the crease that forms the ear with the head, so it goes unnoticed. There are different techniques to perform otoplasty, some of which are based on the weakening of ear cartilage, which can change its shape, and others are based on the application of a few stitches to align the structures. The goal of both techniques is to produce an anatomically proportionate and natural ear, restoring or maintaining the grooves (helix and antihelix) and normal angles.

After the operation it is common to apply a dressing for 3 to 5 days, after which they will be removed, but the ears can still show the remains of swelling or bruising. During the postoperative period, bands are frequently used to keep the ears close to the head during sleep and at the same time to prevent the patient from mobilizing the area during sleep.

On the other hand, ear lobes where the earring holes have been opened too much or are torn (by the continued use of earrings or avulsion injuries of the earrings) can be repaired by the total closure of the hole and recreation after a few weeks later. In ears that the lobe is too large in proportion to the rest of the ear (very common in elderly), it is possible to decrease the size of the lobe and can be carried out during the intervention of facial rejuvenation through facelift.

Therefore, surgery is best indicated for:

-Adults and children over 7 years of age, both men and women who want to improve the appearance and harmony of the ears.

There are congenital difference between both ears (one shorter than the other one) this pathology is called Microtia, in witch the surgeon have to recreate the cartilage (from a rib graft, scalp graft or prosthesis) to make them look the same. This procedure have to be done in several steps.

The neck liposuction is a surgery that is recommended for younger patients with elastic and smooth skin who want to reduce the fat under the chin (double chin). The double chin liposuction involves making a small incision in the neck, where a cannula is inserted to suck the excess fat.
Since the tube placed is small, the incisions will disappear as soon the inflammation lowers in the area and the scars will be virtually undetectable.

Therefore, surgery is best indicated for:

-Adult patients, both men and women who want to improve the aesthetic appearance of double chins.

-Patients with good skin elasticity.

-Little or no muscle flaccidity of the neck region.

-Individuals with clear objectives, and within the real possibilities of the procedure, including being aware of its limitations.

The intervention can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general, and the time spent at the health center may be only a few hours if done outpatient, or one day if you enter the clinic.

Chin surgery or Mentoplasty, is one of the most common plastic surgeries. This treatment can improve your appearance and your self-confidence as it improves one of the most important features of the face that is the termination of the mandible.

The surgery is performed in a hospital. Usually this surgery can be performed on an outpatient in the case of a placement of prostheses. The procedures for amending the chin bone structure may require a brief stay in the clinic.

The mentoplasty can be performed with local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure and depending on what you and your surgeon prefer. With regard to wound healing, as the incision is made on the inside of the mouth there is no visible scar.

The mentoplasty is a procedure that can be done in two ways. The first and simplest is the placement of a prosthesis of a rigid plastic such as silicon (very similar to the feeling of the bone). The second way is to modify the structure of the chin with a small osteotomy. This procedure does not need a prosthesis, only a small titanium plate to stabilize the bone temporarily modified. During surgery, a space is opened to place a prosthetic chin or the shape of the chin is mechanically modified. The features of each procedure will be explained with their advantages and disadvantages.

The final result will depend on your facial structure, as this aspect is just one of those who make the appearance of the face. Finally there will be some stitches within the mouth to close the small incision.

Therefore, surgery is best indicated for:

-Adult patients, both men and women who want to improve the appearance and harmony of the face.

You will be asked to sign a consent form to ensure that there was a full understanding about the procedure to be conducted and that you are aware of the possible and potential complications.
There are procedures to increase and decrease the thickness of the lips. The techniques of increased thickness of the lips can be classified into:

Those that provide temporary results in which the effect is limited in time, and the implanted material is eventually reabsorbed by the body, recovering the previous form. Within this category is lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid, in which the effect appears only a few months (2 to 6). It is one of the most performed in the office and requires no hospitalization. It is carried out in half an hour.

Those that offer permanent or final results, in which the effect remains indefinitely. In this category we include the following techniques:

Fat Autograft

Thecheiloplasty or surgical techniques of advance of the inner surface of the lip to the outside by V-Y plasties.

To reduce the thickness of the lips, removal techniques of the mucous membrane of the inner lip that is in contact with teeth are used, with which they can achieve an adequate contour proportionate to the rest of the face without the existence of an external scar.

Therefore, surgery is best indicated for:

Rhytidectomy

Midface Facelift is a medical term used for a surgical procedure that aims to improve the symptoms of aging of the middle third of the face, which includes the collapse of soft tissue located above the cheekbones. The collapse of the structures of the middle third of the face can accentuate the furrows below the lower eyelids (nasoyugal groove) and between the nose and mouth (nasolabial fold), which in turn lead to a tired face. The fall of the soft tissue and loss of muscle tone associated with sagging skin contribute to the loss of the contours of the face and are related to a number of factors including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress.

The facelift of the middle third of the face is to improve the effects of aging in the area of the cheeks, nasolabial, and the furrow nasoyugal, returning to this area its natural contour. Is important to mention that this procedure may be associated with a cervico facial lifting, where the middle third posterior structures of the face, lower third, and the neck area are treated, as well as a forehead lift, where the upper third of the face is also treated. Other surgeries that may be associated when it is desired and indicated are the upper and lower blepharoplasty.

When you wake up, A suction Drain is left for 2 days to avoid swelling collection.

Comprehension clothe will be on your face to avoid swelling and better heeling.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery)

Blepharoplasty is a medical term used for cosmetic surgery of the palpebral, being best used to treat:

-Excess skin on the top palpebral that can cause creases and obscure vision.

-Excess fat deposits that can cause small bumps on upper palpebral or bags of fat in the lower palpebral.

-Fallen lower palpebral, showing the white portion of the eyes below the pupils.
in some young patients, these conditions are typical of the natural process of aging or heredity.
The eyelid surgery removes excess skin, eliminates bags, and restores the natural look around the eyes, giving the face a more rested and alert look.

The crow’s feet lateral to the eye generally do not improve with blepharoplasty, therefore they should be treated with injections of Botox ® or Disport ®, which weaken temporarily (4-6 months) the expression muscles that cause the wrinkles that are closely attached to skin. In some cases a Facelift may be indicated.

You will be asked to sign a consent form to ensure that you have a full understanding of the procedure to be conducted, and that you are aware of the possible and potential complications.
Risks associated with eyelid surgery include problems healing, wound infection, and dry eyes.

Difficulty closing the eyes completely may occur on the onset but will improve later on.
After surgery, iced saline gauze may be placed on eyelids, and lubricating substances in the eyes when necessary.

At the beginning, inflammation of the area may occur, also dry eyes, discomfort in the region operated or bruised areas, that can be controlled with medication, cold compresses, and lubricants. All these conditions are common.

The head must be kept high (30 to 45 degrees) to improve the inflammation.

At first the sensation of edema (swelling), black and blue regions of the operated area and discomfort are normal. The pain will be controlled with medication and should not be more than tolerable. If you have any questions regarding any of these symptoms, ask your surgeon.
You will be instructed to avoid physical exertion or heavy lifting for several weeks after the surgery. The return to normal activities will be gradual and according to the orientation of the surgeon. Some areas with lack of sensitivity and discreetly hardened on the operated region may occur and gradually improve in the months that follow.
